Carlos Eduardo born in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, a city locate in a  region at south of Venezuela into  amazing places and natural formations like Orinoco river, Tepuys, Canaima, Salto Angel, Amazonas and "Gran Sabana". Maybe that earth energy around Carlos was the key for his inmense creative flow. Carlos was exposed to classical and popular songs, music and instruments from an early age. His first experiences and influences were attained by listening jazz from his father vinyl LPs... Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ben Webster, Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker, Gilliespie, Charlie Christian, swing bands and brazilian carnival samba music among others. He also gained insights from the rich traditional folklore, Antonio Lauro waltz and songs, calypso and "tambor" music from the east zones of Venezuela where exists an rich blend of african culture.

 

Carlos family moved to Venezuelan Andes, there Carlos grew up under the influence of local music and as teenager with the sounds of rock and pop heros, like Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Stones, Uriah Heep, Rare Earth. Deep Purple, Yes, Wishbone Ash. He started playing guitar at the age 15 under the guidance of master Emilio Biggi and the classical guitar master Rafael Suarez in the Miguel Angel Espinel Miguel Music Academy of San Cristobal where study music theory, composition, harmony and music history. While studies industrial engineering in UNET (Experimental National University of Tachira) Carlos take parallely studies in the Escuela Normal Valecillos, there studies piano with pianist master Tomasso Romano (Milan Conservatory Italy) basics of choral conduction and voice ensemble, and get graduated as Music Educator Major.
Carlos strong interest in electronic and audio recording as his film scoring approach and composer trends set the stage for Carlos to work as producer and composer of film and theater music at his early age of 19 years old. This was accomplished while attending UNET. His music for the film "Las Novias Del Mendigo" (Romulo Gallegos) won first prize in Agua Linda, Brazil, in the International Film Festival, under the category 'best film score'. This was a time where Carlos gathered inspiration and influence from artists like Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, Jan Akkerman (focus), BB King, Larry Carlton and others .
Carlos began to immerse himself in listening to big names like Pat Metheny, Roben Ford, Wes Montogomery, John Tropea, Eumir Deodato, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and many more. In early 80,s Carlos met the Venezuelan jazz pianist Virgilio Armas and play with his trio. During this time Carlos got the job of Composer in Residence for the TRT, TV plant located in the city of high relevance as comunication center for the bi-national frontier of Colombia y Venezuela. Carlos created hundreds of pieces and spots of broadcasting and advertisement music, using the most modern midi and sampling technologies in a studio which was constructed under Carlos directions.

At 1997 Carlos start his approach to the world of internet that lead him to become a well know name in the guitar community under his nick Jazzpick. Carlos meet the web site www.guitarwar.com where got a hard to obtain place at Hall of Fame for his outstanding guitar performing . In 1999 Carlos meet the danish sampling tools producer Thomas Scarbee http://scarbee.com and wrote/record demos for Scarbee libraries and start to work in audio sampling projects.
Carlos has recorded, performed as guest musician, or participated in jazz festivals and public performances/jam sessions with important venezuelan jazz artists like Andres Briceño, Roberto Koch, Virginia Ramirez, Kitimba Jazz, Pablo Gil, Gerardo Chacon, Pedro Lopez, Victor Cuica, Kitimba Jazz, Gonzalo Mico, Ilan Chester, Luis Alvarado, Eddy Perez, Gerry Weil, Julio Flores, Miguel Chacon, Ruben Soto, Otmaro Ruiz, Frank Quintero.

Carlos next to out CD is a mixture of world and jazz music with sounds and reminiscence of Venezuelan and southamerica musical culture and performing with important artists.
